At the Light Show in January we launched some exciting new models for 2007. The ever-popular Orion is now available complete with a light kit and following huge demand for the Gemini Pewter we have introduced a Pewter finish into our best-selling Viper range. We also have two new "combi" units, complete with lights, joining the Mayfair range - Chocolate Brown and Antique Brass .

Fantasia Ceiling Fans has beaten off competition from more than 400 small businesses in the South East to win this region of the Parcelforce Worldwide Small Business Awards.

Having sent off our initial application in February 2003 we were very pleased to progress into the 2nd round of the competition. The next stage involved completing a detailed pack giving information on all aspects of the business, from relationships with customers and staff to our interactions with the outside world and the role of the manager.

In August we were delighted to be told that we were winners of the South East Region of the competition. This meant that out of 4,500 nation-wide applicants we had reached the Top Ten in the country and were now through to the National Final.

A Granada film crew visited our offices and spent a whole day shooting footage for a video about the company which was to be shown at the National Final Awards Ceremony.

This took place in October at the London Studios and was presented by Michael Buerk and included Richard Branson and Nigel Griffiths, Under-Secretary of State for Small Business and Enterprise as speakers.

We were of course disappointed when we didn't win the overall title of Small Business of 2003 but were absolutely delighted to have got as far as we did, and extremely proud of our achievement.

Managing Director, Tony Linger, said:  "I am absolutely delighted that we have been selected as the best small business in the South East of England.  The win not only reflects the contribution made by every member of staff, but my genuine belief that the product we supply is the best."

Michael Anderson of Parcelforce Worldwide said: "Our small business awards scheme has been established for eleven years and is the largest of its kind in the UK, and attracts the cream of the crop so Fantasia is a very worthy winner in a tough competition."

As a result, every member of the judging panel, when asked if they would invest their own money in Fantasia, responded with a resounding YES!"
