Garage Door Detail
When comparing our garage doors with others please note key differences, you won't be comparing 'apples for apples' as they say. Our doors benefit from 'Center Free' grade stiles, 14mm finish cladding thickness, 28 x 145mm rails and bracing. They are made us, skilled joiners and finished by hand.
We believe our doors are better supplied in a better grade timber than pressure treated in a lesser grade. Many pressure treated products compromise with a lesser grade timber or size of timber used.
When considering 'pressure' treated doors you must also check that only 'stainless' pins have been used in the construction due to a reaction with the treatment of other metals, which in turn causes failure in the pins securing the cladding. Pressure treated products must also have been treated after construction alternatively any timber used in the manufacture before assembly which has been cut or machined must have had a further 'localised' treatment to the exposed faces after these operations.
Due to specialising in the manufacture of timber garage doors we are able to offer a better specification at excellent prices. We recommend on receiving your doors to apply two coats of 'Cuprinol Clear' preservative followed by a paint system or coloured preservative.
