Sterling Silver

I sell a range of Sterling Silver items. Most items are hallmarked 925. This means that the items are 92.5% Pure Silver. The other 7.5% is usually made up of a hardening mineral such as Copper. If jewellery was 100% Silver then the item would be too soft and unpractical. This also means that 925 Silver is allergy free as minerals such as Nickel are excluded.

Hematite 

Hematite is an ore of iron. Colour varies from grey silver to black in some forms and red to brown in earthy forms.

Brooches and Pins  

Brooches and Pins are often included. Silver, Gold Plate, Amber, Diamante and Swarovski Crystal may be found as they become available. 

Amber

Millions of years ago trees would seep a sticky resin. This resin would slowly run down the tree trunk and would sometimes pick up things on the way, such as insects and seeds. The trees would eventually become buried and over millions of years the resin became fossilized, and known to us as Amber. Today lovely pieces of Jewellery are produced using this warm gem and varying colours create a wonderful variation. 

Swarovski Crystal

These fabulous Crystals are manufactured from the highest quality glass, then skilfully cut and polished. Used in a variety of objects, from jewellery to tiny sculptures and chandeliers.

Cubic Zirconia  (CZ)

Cubic Zirconia is a synthetic gemstone and is widely produced as a substitute for diamond. This gemstone is so optically close to diamond that only a trained eye can easily differentiate between the two. It is known for it's flawless appearance and durability and is often colourless, but is also produced in a selection of colours. 

 Paua Shell 

Found in New Zealand and is amongst the most colourful shells in the world. Dominant colours are blues and greens with rainbow colours often appearing.
