The English Counties are grouped into the Electoral Regions used for the European Parliamentary Elections - July 1999.

NORTH EAST = Northumberland, Durham.

NORTH WEST = Cumberland, Westmorland, (Cumbria), Lancashire, and Cheshire.

YORKSHIRE = Yorkshire & Humberside. (North Lincs. is listed with the rest of Lincs. in E.Midlands).

WEST MIDLANDS = Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, and Herefordshire.

EAST MIDLANDS = Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, and Northamptonshire.

EAST ANGLIA = Huntingdonshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, and Essex.

SOUTH EAST = Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Surrey, Kent, East & West Sussex, Hampshire. (Isle of Wight is a seperate category). 

SOUTH WEST = Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall. (Scilly Isles is a seperate category).
