Where is your shop based?

Giovanna Couture is centrally located in Newark, Nottinghamshire in the Midlands with great road and train links, we are just off the A1 and have 2 train stations in Newark serving east-west rail links (Castlegate) and north-south rail links (Northgate). I only have a few weeks before my wedding date, can you help?

At Giovanna Couture, we have lots of brand new dresses in stock at our central warehouse in off the peg sizing.

You can visit to to collect you gown (please call for an appointment), or we can despatch your gown to you for you to have alterations closer to home.  Please call our call centre on 01636 676909 to book an appointment and quoting the dress and size required so we can transfer the dress to our bridal shop ready for your visit.

Do you have stock of a particular style?

We hold lots of dresses both wedding and bridesmaids in stock at our central warehouse (not in the retail shop) in sizes 6-30 and age 2-14 years ready for U.K next day delivery, you can visit our shop to try on a range of our dresses, then if we have the dress is in stock at  our warehouse we can process your order on the day then post our your dress next working day with no carriage for charges for wedding dresses. Or if you call in advance we can have the dress made available to try on at our bridal shop, so you can take home on the day. Alternatively you can order online and have the dress delivered to you free of charge*.

*Carriage charges are applicable on bridesmaid dresses but free of charge on all current range wedding dresses.

I wish to order online but how do I check stock levels?

On Ebay we list all items that we currently hold in our warehouse, if you cant find the size or colour that you need having searched our ebay shop, please give our retail shop a call on 01636 676909 and they can advise your of stock levels and assist you with your order.

How long will delivery take for items that are NOT in stock?

Currently our production time is 16-20 weeks for non stocked items, we always like to have 6 months clear time between the date of order and the date of your wedding to ensure that your dress arrives with you in plenty of time.  But please be aware that anything that we list for sale on ebay is in our U.K warehouse ready for immediate despatch.  Should you require a different colour or size to the item listed then the production time noted above will apply.

How long will delivery take for items that are in stock?

We send all wedding and bridesmaid dresses by next day courier from stock, so from your date of order we will take 1 further day to steam and pack your dress, then your dress will leave us on the second day.  This equates to delivery to the customer 3-4 days from the date of order.

How will the dress be packed?

All of our wedding gowns are steamed, hung on hangers inside a complimentary dress bag, they are then packed into a suitable cardboard box and taped shut for protection during transit. 

Bridesmaid dresses are packed inside out for protection during transit, packed inside a clear polythene bag then packed into tough sacks for safety during transit. 

How much is carriage?

We don’t charge for carriage for wedding dresses. Bridesmaid dresses are charged at £8.50 for adult gowns and £5.00 for children’s, to a maximum of £20.   

If you are an overseas buyer, please contact us for the carriage charge, stating the items required and the delivery point.  

Can I collect my gown?

Yes, you are more than welcome to collect your gown from our bridal shop in Newark Nottinghamshire. Please call us the shop on 01636 676909 to organise a collection time (please give at least 48hrs notice) and we will have your dress pressed and ready for pickup.

How do I know which size to buy?

Please measure your bust/chest, waist & hips, you can call us quoting the name of the dress and your measurements, from these we can guide you on the best fitting size from our range.

Alternatively you can visit our bridal shop in Newark Nottinghamshire to try on a range of dresses, if you call for an appointment we can ensure that your chosen dress or the closest possible match is available for you to try on the day of your visit.

How can I get help with alterations?

We can help you with an appointment to have your gown altered should you need to take an off the peg sized gown, we charge for all alterations at cost, but please note you will need an appointment to ensure that the seamstress is available at the time of your visit.

Alternatively if on receipt of yoru gown you do find that you require minor alteration we highly recommend Johnsons Drycleaners.

Bridesmaid dresses for adults are made to a standard length of 58” from shoulder to hem measuring down the side of the body, we can make to a longer length for a nominal charge.

I'm a tall/petite bride will your dresses be long/short enough?

Should you require extra length on your gown, this is possible for a small charge, however you will need to contact us, so we can discuss your requirements and we will need to make the dress for you in your required length, so we will need time for production.

Should you require a shorter length, then you can purchase an off the peg sized dress, then this can be re-hemmed with your seamstress on receipt.  Should you have time we can assist you with custom sized gown.

Can you provide colour swatches?

Yes. Please click here to request colour swatches,  they will be sent out 1st class post to you with our latest brochures. 

Are your dresses brand new?

Yes, We DO NOT deal in second hand dresses and are NOT ex showroom sample sunless stated on the listing.
