LATEST POSTAGE DISPUTE We expected and warned of delays to our Royal Mail deliveries due to the last 'National Strike' between October 22nd and 25th. UPDATE: This Strike action on the 22nd and 23rd appears to have delayed just 5 of our items all by three days. Until 22nd October most deliveries have been completely unaffected with some only very slightly delayed. Further 'National' strikes are planned for 29th October, but it would appear support for this action is dwindling even further and we hope that few orders will actually be delayed. Previous localised strike problem areas were South London, Brisol, Glasgow and Ayeshire with SW11 our worst affected area. These were also the areas where delays occured during the 'National strike'. We are using alternative couriers for many high value and heavier item but there just isn't a reasonably priced alternative for 1st & 2nd Class standard or Recorded Delivery services. Please allow extra time for deliveries during this dispute and please don't mark us down for poor delivery services or late dispatch if the dispute does delay your package! - We still send everything just as soon as possible. Our opinion: We are proud of our Royal Mail Postal Service. It has provided an excellent service as our feedback clearly demonstrates. However, to strike is always a trade off between job losses that result and getting a better deal or conditions for those who remain. Taking industrial action during a recession is, at best, very unwise. Job losses will be greater and those losing their jobs will find it much harder to find new employment. So we do not support this latest action and hope it can be concluded long before the Christmas rush. PREVIOUS MESSAGES . . .
