A very long time ago Stephen McGreal commenced his craft apprenticeship, one of his first tasks was to help in the making of a rocking horse. This unofficial job, introduced Stephen to the magic of rocking horses, and over the years he continued to make rocking horses for his friends and family. Stephen later established his own joinery business, out of which emerged Wirral Rocking Horses in 1988.
This established rocking horse maker has appeared numerous times on the television and radio. For many years we operated from our retail premises at 364 Hoylake Road, making horses for home and abroad. We have produced hundreds of rocking horses and lost track of the amount of horses, particularly Collinson horses we have lovingly restored. In 1992 we restored the famous 'Blacklers' horse, possibly the largest Collinson's horse in the country.
All the fittings we offer are used on our own horses or restorations.
