ORDER DISPATCH INFORMATION

Valsplants is a very small online nursery however we are very busy and we deal with high volume of orders. Each order is takes a while to be prepared. The plant is carefully selected, prepared and wrapped to arrive fresh and healthy. Seeds are prepared to order so that takes a little longer to prepare.

All our orders are packed on the day they are posted. They are picked in the morning and packed for collection at 3pm. Generally a simple straight forward order of one plant will take about 15 minutes to pack. Some big orders with mixed plants, bulbs and seeds will take a good 45 minutes to one hours to prepare and check before sealing the box.

We aim to send all order within 3 working days of payment received although during spring and early summer due to the high volume of orders its not always possible. During this time of year we say that order will take between 5-7 working days to be dispatched.

We ask customers to contact us mainly by phone if they have any queries or any worries about their order. As we are not always available to pick up the phone you can call later or leave a message and we will come back to you as soon as possible.

Please do not hesitate to contact us during business hours on 07515 385821.

If you prefer you can send us an email via Ebay and we will aim to reply as soon as possible.

Thank you and happy shopping !

A wildflower meadow brings a whole new approach to any garden. Its a low maintenance and it also brings instant colours to your garden. The s diversity in plants and flowers, plus the added benefit of attracting wildlife such as numerous insects and birds surely makes for one of the most interesting areas in a garden.

is a mix for all types of gardens. Whether you want your meadow to be in the shade, around a pond area or simply in a sunny spot we will have the right mixture for you.

A wildflower garden is quite easy to create providing you give it the right start. Below are some hints that might help you.

WHEN TO PLANT:

As most wildflowers are annuals( some are perennials or biennials) its best to sow them in late spring when the danger of frosts have passed. In an ideal world late April early May would be the perfect time.

SITE :

This is the most important part as this will enable the success in your wildflower garden. You must clear a spot by removing all existing growth. Till only deep enough to pull old roots out. If you till too deep you might end up with old weeds coming up amongst your flowers. Though one person's weeds are another's wildflower there are certain characteristics which define them. Weeds are generally not a member of the natural plant community, have rapid growth and abundant seed production and generally speaking they are troublesome.

SOWING:

You must sow as soon as you prepare the site that way you wont give the weeds a chance to pop their heads through. Simply scatter the seeds by hand making sure you cover the whole site evenly. Once the seeds are sown do not rake or cover it. you can lay down a large board to compress the seeds into the bare soil however if you cover then up it might prevent them from germinating. Keep your seedbed moist until seedlings are about 20 cms high then leave Mother Nature to take care of them.

AFTER CARE:

The beauty of a wildflower meadow is the fact that they will not need any looking after until autumn. Once autumn comes around and they will start dying out you will need to pull them out. There is no need to fertilize them either. If you do add fertilizer it will increase the changes of the weeds coming through and spoiling your work and you might damage some of the wildlife that will be attracted to your meadow.

We have a mixture for all places so check out our seed shop for a great selection.
