Q. I am thinking about making an offer on a listing that offers it... can you tell me more?
Please treat Best Offer as "very near offer" if you wish your offer to be considered seriously.
If an offer is accepted it will be on the basis that the person making the offer is to have the item shipped to the country which they are located in. For example if a UK bidder makes an offer which I accept, I am doing so on the basis the item is to be shipped to the UK. If it turns out the item is to be shipped to a different country the accepted offer will either become null and void or the buyer will be expected to pay any additional cost in shipping it to another country.
Q. Am I really bidding for everything in the picture?
A. Yes
Q. Is all material original i.e. no copied articles or covers?
A. Yes it's all original - straight from the publication
Q. Can you tell me when you list a pack featuring xxxxxx xxxxxxxx?
A. Just go to the front page of my eBay store, scroll down the left side of the front page and join the mailing list.
Q. Will you close the auction early and let me buy the item at a certain price?
A. No, I never allow this.
Q. Why have you removed my bid on your item ?
I would have placed an explanation under the removal notice anyway but it would only be because I have concerns about your previous eBay feedback or because you don't have any prior feedback. All my auctions explain the criteria for bidding.
Q. Why am I unable to bid on your item? Every time I try I am blocked?
A. You would only be blocked either because ukclippings consider that your Ebay feedback is poor ** or you are a relatively Ebay user and you have previously tried to bid without complying with the terms of my auctions. These terms are quite clear. If you were a new Ebay user and you now have a few positive feedbacks contact me from the Ebay listing and I will consider lifting the block. ** Your definition of poor feedback may differ from mine.
Q. Do you package the clippings safely with a protective covering?
A. Yes of course. All packs are not only supported by cardboard but then enclosed in a large polythene bag which is then sealed.
Q. Can I send you a money order or personal cheque?
A. No Paypal is the ONLY payment method.
Q. Do you add additional clippings to the pack I have won between me winning the auction and receiving my money?
A. No. My celebrity clippings packs are amongst the biggest and the best available on Ebay anyway.
Q. How much will postage and packing (shipping and handling) be?
A. See the item listing - there is a clear notification of cost - or scroll down to the bottom of this page.
Q. Will you trade clippings of a celebrity I have for some you have on Ebay?
A. No, bidding on Ebay is the only way to get my clippings packs.
Q. Will you ship by surface mail?
A. No, surface (sea) mail takes far too long (up to 12 weeks to USA) and increases likelihood of packs getting damaged. For that reason all items are shipped airmail which is both fast and reliable.
Q. Do you charge extra for people who pay by Paypal?
A. No, not only is this against the terms and conditions laid down by Paypal but it is far easier and safer for me to accept payments this way so the charge is not passed to you.
Q. The picture on auction #xxxxxxxx does not appear to be working. Why?
A. It more than likely is working but my images are very large to make sure you see everything in the pack you are bidding for. Allow a little longer for my image to appear. If it still does not appear try a little later as my ISP may have problems. If it still does not work let me know via the auction listing screen.
Q. I am only interested in one particular picture could you please scan it and email it to me?
A. No (That is the polite answer!)
Q. You have received my money and sent my goods but why haven't you recorded positive feedback for me yet?
A. As explained on the item listing I used to record positive feedback on receipt of payment as this is the fairest way to do things. Logically the buyer should then record their feedback on receipt of goods. However, recently, more and more buyers have set themselves up on Ebay with the sole intent of corrupting others feedback. They wait until the seller has posted positive feedback for them and then post negative feedback for the seller for no reason other than to cause problems. For this reason I now wait until the buyer has received their goods and has posted feedback for me, I then record the buyers feedback accordingly. It is a system which works very well.
Q. I refer to item #xxxxxxxx please could you tell me all the magazines these clippings were taken from? Or does this contain the feature from xxxxx magazine? Or can you tell me the date of xxxxx magazine? Or similar....
A. You will need to judge this yourself from the picture as all packs are wrapped securely, ready for dispatch, immediately after listing. It is not possible to reopen packs after listing on Ebay to answer such questions. I am sure you will appreciate that with the amount of material involved in my packs it is not possible to go rummaging about looking for 1 piece of paper.
Q. Why aren't you replying to my emails?
A. As a matter of course I never ignore sensible questions about my auctions on Ebay e.g. requests for post quotes. However for people who ask stupid questions which are clearly answered in the listing or which are not related to the auction I will not respond. These include requests to end auctions early, requests for post quotes from new Ebay users who are not permitted to bid anyway, emails from new Ebay users pleading to bid, people requesting to buy packs outside of Ebay and requests for nude pictures of celebrities.
Q. I have a bulk load of magazines - will you buy them?
I realise there are many people who don't have the time to list old magazines they have had for many years, especially on an individual basis. I will consider buying magazines in bulk which are in good condition and complete. Obviously this depends on what magazines I have a need for at any particular time. I will pay a very competitive CASH price depending on the material involved and its quality.
I am based in South East England and would prefer to collect items from Sussex, Kent and South East London. However, if the journey is worth it I may be able to travel further.
