ROYAL MAIL STRIKE: ALTERNATIVE SERVICES
Royal Mail will be affected by a series of National Strikes from Thursday 22 October. These will severely affect Collections and Deliveries. With several million items of underlivered mail still in the system from the previous wave of rolling regional strikes, delays delivering mail are likely to be substantial.
Post Offices remain unaffected by the strikes and will remain open and will continue to accept mail.
The first set of strikes are scheduled for Thursday 22 October and Friday 23 October. TheFozShop will not ship any items on these days via Royal Mail to avoid the possibility that parcels will end up stuck in a backlog of uncleared mail that will build up. Parcels will be shipped on days when there are no strikes.
PLEASE NOTE: Items shipped via Royal Mail will be subject to substantial delays during the strike period. Our usual terms of refunding/replacing items that do not arrive in the UK after 15 days and Internationally after 25 days will be suspended and extended. Further details on the length of this extension will follow.
Royal Mail say that they will give priority to Special Delivery Next Day and Special Delivery by 9am services but these are likely to be affected too.
TheFozShop will be offering several cost effective alternatives to the Royal Mail services we currently provide. (See below.) We will also not be adding on any additional Packing costs so the price You pay is the price We pay. Unfortunately, this only applies to UK Domestic Mail services. International Shipping options will remain the same as there are no cost effective alternative shipping options available and will be subject to delays during and after the strikes. There is currently no end in sight to the strikes.
We recommend customers from outside of the UK use shipping options which include a tracking service. This will help customers keep track of any purchases that are delayed. The tracking options is £3.70 in ADDITION to the standard Airmail price quoted.

This service involves items being dropped off at and collected from selected Collect+ participating retailers. There are almost 4000 of these retailers in the UK which are also part of the PP-PayPoint network of shops, petrol stations, supermarkets and other retailers where you can pay your Utility Bills and TopUp Your Mobile Phone. Your nearest may be your Corner Shop! Many are open Monday-Saturday, and 98% of stores are open at least 8 hours/day, 7 days a week and some open from 6am to 10pm.
This service is ideal for people who do not have time to wait at home for a courier to arrive and has the added convenience of you being able to collect from your nearest store at a time that suits you. That may be before work, during a dinner break, picking your kids up from school, when you finish work or even on your way out during the evening if your store opens late.
Check the website for your nearest store by adding in your post code on the search. Many people find that their nearest participating retailer is closer than their Post Office or nearest Royal Mail Parcel Collections office!
