Cute Christmas Pyramid Decoupage Card

Why not start early for Christmas and make this quick and easy Christmas pyramid card.

Materials required

Pyramid Card Sheet
Backing Paper
Printable acetate
Peel Offs
Adhesives
Card

Choose a suitable backing design for your card and print it onto the acetate. The backing paper used in this card comes from Popcorn The Bear Christmas cd.

Fold the acetate in half and then run a very thin line of clear drying glue down the fold. We used the Art Glitter glue as this is a good quality glue and you can purchase an extra fine tip for the glue. Now carefully slid your folded card into the folded acetate and press to make sure the glue is in contact with the card.  Don't worry if the design smudges slightly, this can be hidden with peel offs. You have now secured your acetate to your card and you can't see any adhesive.

Add peel offs around the edge of your acetate. Carry the decoration all the way around the back to add a more stylish finish to your card

Cut out the shapes of the pyramids from the pyramid sheet. To make the design look more sparkly we used glitter peel offs around the edge of the base print.

Stick the base print to the acetate and then build your pyramid up from the largest size shape to the smallest.

Add a greeting and you've made your first card for Christmas.

Hints and tips

Having problems finding a suitable backing design. Why not type a Christmas greeting over and over again and use this as a backing sheet.

If you are worried about seeing the glue on the back of the acetate, hide it with a shape cut out the same size as your pyramid base print and add a greeting or picture.

If you are worried about cutting a straight line, use deckled edged scissors. They are great for hiding up wonky lines.

Foam pads are perfect for children to use, no mess! If you are nervous about getting your design on straight use the silicone glue as you can move the pieces into position which you can't do with the foam pads.

If you want more of a glitzy look, try adding peel off straight lines to the edge of the base print or add glitter on various layers.

Making sure peel offs are on straight on acetate is really easy. Use anything with a grid, like a cutting mat or graph paper. Line the acetate up so it is straight on the lines and then you can place your peel offs using the grid as a guide.
