Make a cute shaker card for someone special.
Materials required
Popcorn Bear CD Rom
Ribbon Embellishments Foam Pads
Shaker/ Bubble Card Peel Offs Needle and thread in the same colour as your ribbon.
- Choose the design you want to use from the CD Rom. The design shown is Popcorn with a single flower.
- Print out the design on thick paper and cut out. To get the fluffy fur on Popcorn cut diagonal lines first running left to right and then right to left. This creates tiny triangles that when removed gives the fur a fluffy look.
- To create the flower, sew a running stitch along a piece of ribbon. Draw the two ends together to gather the flower and then tie a knot. To finish the flower glue an embellishment to the centre, then glue the ribbon flower to the Popcorn design.
- Taking the shaker/bubble card, remove the centre panel and then glue Popcorn Bear in place using foam pads and the cut out of the card as a guide. If you stick the design before you stick the bubble in the card, you can get the design in the right position. Carefully stick the bubble to the card. Be careful of your design you have already stuck down but with a little care it will be fine.
- When the bubble has dried to the card, put the shaker bits in the bubble. This can be anything you like from more of the embellishments used on the centre of the ribbon flower to punched out shapes. Then glue the card together being careful not to shake the card until it is dried.
- Add some more embellishments and peel offs and finally tie a ribbon around the card.
You are ready to send your cute Popcorn Bear to someone special.
Hints & Tips
Popcorn Bear can be 3d decoupaged as you have the space in the shaker card.
Don't be tempted to shake the card until it has dried throughly as the shaker bits can get stuck.
Other ideas for putting in the card could be rice or confetti for a wedding, punched out bits, rose petals, seeds or glitter which would be ideal for Christmas.
If you would like larger ribbon flowers choose wider ribbon.
Happy crafting.
