Do I fit my blind inside or outside the recess?
Blinds can be fitted either inside or outside the window recess. Inside the recess generally looks neater. On the other hand this may involve cutting the blind to the right width.
Only some blinds (see FAQs by type of blind) can be reduced in width. Often a blind hung outside the recess can look just as effective and is easier to fit. Perhaps a standard size cannot be, or does not have to be, reduced.
If your windows open inwards or you have shutters, the blind will need to be outside the recess to allow operation of the window. |
