WOLDWIDE SHIPPING:  We are sorry but our products can only be shipped to addresses inside the United Kingdom.
SHIPPING LEAD TIMES
:  All orders paid for by midday will be dispatched by first class post on the same day (Monday-Friday). Orders paid for after midday will be dispatched the next working day.
COMBINED INVOICES: We send out combined invoices every morning around 8am.

RESPONSE TIMES: We aim to answer all emails within 24 hours.  Our phone line is open from 9am till 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, - but those essential trips to the post office mean that we cannot always answer the phone - please do leave a message, we want to talk to you and will return your call.  

Q: when will you answer my email?

We answer email queries between 7am and midday daily.  If you email us via Ebay please make sure that you dont "hide" your address from us as if you do it will take us much longer to answer you (its much more difficult and time consuming is the reason).  We do not share peoples email addresses with anyone else.  Not ever.

Q: can we contact you by phone?

Of course - please phone us on 0845 838 6226 - the office is staffed Monday to Friday, 0900-1730.

Q: when will my purchases be dispatched?

Purchases paid for by Paypal by midday are dispatched same working day if at all humanly possible (and often when not!).  Working days are Monday to Friday, so:

  • Paid for MIDDAY Monday - dispatched first class on Monday
  • Paid for 1pm Monday - dispatched first class on Tuesday
  • Paid for MIDDAY Friday - dispatched first class on Friday
  • Paid for 1pm Friday - dispatched first class on Monday

Purchases paid for by postal orders will be the dispatched the day after we receive the payment - this is because our postman does not arrive until about 1pm in the afternoon.

Q: shipping insurance for UK addresses.

All orders, paid for as one transaction, that total over £20 will be sent by insured Recorded Delivery.  You only need to pay the standard shipping rate which is 80p for the first item and 12p per item thereafter.

Customers whose orders total less than £20 will be offered insurance at the rate of 0.75p per parcel.  Insurance is recommended.  Parcels sent without insurance are sent at your own risk.  We do obtain proof's of posting and we do deal with non-delivery claims sensibly.

Q: a certificate of posting provide insurance doesn't it?

The post office says that following items are not insured via a certificate of posting:

  • Anything made of, or containing, sterling silver or gold of any karat;
  • Anything made of, or containing, any semi-precious stone;
  • jewellery
  • anything being sent from the UK to any other country

So the short answer is no.  To insure your parcel you need to opt for recorded delivery.

Q: shipping to addresses outside of the UK

We do not ship our products to addresses outside of United Kingdom.

Q: when will my purchases be delivered?

We will notify you that your purchases have been dispatched.  We only use first class post so in thoery your purchases will arrive the day after they were posted.  However this does not always happen - the Royal Mail admits that it fails to meet its own target of next day delivery for 1 in every 10 items posted. 

Your parcel will be dispatched to the address provided to us via Ebay - so if this is wrong then we need to know! 

Our long experience is that if mail does not arrive next day then it is in transit - and that generally there is no reason for it being late other than inefficiency on the part of the Royal Mail. 

Q: how can I contact you?

Q: I've asked you for a combined invoice, when will it arrive? 

We send out combined invoices, every morning generally by 8am.  Everyone who has made two or more purchases - two or more of which have not been paid for - will automatically receive a combined invoice, you do not need to ask us for one.  Your invoice will be sent to the email address that you have registered with Ebay and you will be able to pay your invoice from your mailbox.  If your purchases are paid for by the time stipulated on the invoice then your purchases will be dispatched same day.

Important exception: Ebay routinely performs "system maintenance" every week on Friday mornings between 0700 and 0900.  During this time we are often unable to access our seller screens and thus cannot send out combined invoices until this "maintenance" is complete.  Additionally, aproximately one week in eight the "maintenance" goes wrong and our screens remain "down" until maybe upto midday.  So, if its Friday morning and you have not received a combined invoice by 0930 this is why - as soon as we can access our screens, rest assured that your combined invoices will be sent out to you.

Q: what are the UK shipping rates? 

All of our listings allow for automatic combined postage discounts via Ebay - our rates:

  • for the UK -  80p first item, 12p per extra item thereafter

To get combined rates you must NOT pay item by item, instead you must select all of your items, and then when you have finished shopping you should pay for all of your items at once - you will be offered the reduced rate automatically.

If your order totals over £85 then your parcel will be shipped by special delivery and we will charge you only £3.00 and bear the rest of the postage charges ourselves.  You will certainly need to ask us for a combined invoice for this rate.

If you spend over £125 p&p is free. Please ask us for a combined invoice with free shipping.

Q: do the products look like the photograph?

We take all of our own photographs and we photograph the goods that we are selling so the answer is yes.  Our photographs are magnified so that you can clearly see what you are buying.  Colour display varies from monitor to monitor so colours may vary slightly from what you see on screen and what you see in the flesh.  Beads do vary slightly from string to string but we do our best to take photographs that are representative of the batch that we have in stock at any one time.

Q: what guarantees do you offer?

We abide by the sale of goods act for distance selling - and more importantly we think - we treat our customers as we would wish to be treated ourselves.  All of our products are covered by our "no quibble" guarantee.  If you are unhappy for any reason at all simply return your purchases to us and (provided they are in "as new" condition) we will refund you in full.   We will usually also refund you the postage that you paid to have the item sent to you - can't say fairer than that.

Q: what's your feedback policy?

100% postitive of course!  We will leave positive feedback for you once the transaction has been concluded - ie: once you have received your purchases and let us know that everything is satisfactory.  In the event of any problem at all please contact us and let us know - then we can get on with getting it sorted.  We are only human and very occassionally mistakes are made - if this happens we will resolve them as quickly as is possible (and sometimes quicker).  We are not into negative feedback and we wont leave it if there is any other alternative - we know that problems can arise but are keen to resolve them either by email or phone if at all possible.

Q: my items is out of stock!

Very very occassionally an item purchased may be out of stock.  We update our ebay shop every day, removing items that have sold out during the previous 24 hours.  We try extremely hard not to list items that we no longer have and not listing stock that we dont have is right at the top of our priority list. 

However, it is important to realise that we do not hold stock pending payment. 

We operate a strict first-to-pay, first-to-get policy which we feel is the fairest way to do it.  So if you commit to buy, but then do not pay us for several days then it is possible that one or more of items will have sold out by the time you get around to paying for them.  This is one of the main reasons why instant payment by paypal is the best way to go - postal orders, and especially cheques leave us waiting days or even weeks for cleared funds - and until the funds are cleared we will not set aside any purchases.  Why not?  Because cheques bounce and then we have to spend time re-listing products that we would otherwise have already sold.
