Terms and Conditions Of Sale

Delivery is only £19.99!*

*There are a few exceptions, so please read on.

We will contact you at time of processing and give you a realistic estimate of date and time of delivery.

Items in stock will be delivered within 28 days to anywhere within mainland Britain, except to PA, IV and KW postcodes where there will be an additional charge which will be advised prior to order confirmation. Large items are generally transported directly to your home in specially equipped furniture vans and are carried in by trained furniture delivery staff. Smaller items may be delivered by a parcel service. For delivery to Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, Scottish Islands and Channel Islands we will deliver to a nominated mainland GB address e.g. a port. The isle of Wight is excluded from this restriction. Onward shipping from that point is the responsibility of the customer. Please note we do not deliver on weekends or Bank Holidays. Items that are made to order including Mottisfont, New Court and Provence Collections will be delivered within 28 days of the Furniture Emporium receiving them. Christian Harold products have a lead time of approximately 8 weeks unless we have the item in stock. We will do all in our power to provide efficient communication throughout the process.

Bespoke Furniture

Items that are made to order will be delivered within 28 days of the Furniture Emporium receiving them. We will do all in our power to provide efficient communication throughout the process.

The lead time on bespoke items is generally 8-10 weeks. We turn them around as fast as possible as it is in our interests to do so. Bespoke items are exempt from our guarantee in that providing there is no fault, we cannot accept the return of non standard items i.e. (if you don’t like your design or you made an error at planning stage).

The same applies to any paint finishes requested which vary from our standard offering.

Guarantee

Because we are online Furniture specialists we offer a unique Money Back Guarantee, FREE return service. If you change your mind when our team deliver your Furniture and see it in your home, they will take it back right away. This allows us to use the same vehicle journey and delivery team to collect the goods and to protect the furniture with the original packaging. Your money will be returned in full to the same credit card or by cheque whichever was originally used for the transaction.

If however you decide to return any non-faulty goods at any time after the original delivery vehicle has driven away from the delivery address - for example a couple of days later - then we will charge you the cost of the collection and the original delivery, which can total £150. So you can return non-faulty goods up to 8 days after they are delivered, but to enjoy the FREE return service they must be re-packed and taken away at the time that the delivery is made.

You will appreciate therefore that it is very important that you are at home when the delivery is made to make a decision while the delivery team are still there. To take advantage of our Money Back Guarantee, we suggest you check that the goods you have ordered will fit through all the openings to the place where you want to put them in your home.

IMPORTANT: Mattresses can only be returned if they are unopened. Mattresses which have been opened and slept on cannot be returned. If you wish to test a mattress please keep it wrapped until you are sure you want to keep it.

All products have a full manufacturers warranty, which is 6 months unless otherwise stated.

Refunds

Refunds will be made within 30 days of notification, to the same credit card that was used for the transaction or by cheque whichever was originally used for the transaction.

Damage

If there is any visible damage or there are faults in the goods delivered to you, they must be advised to the delivery team and noted on the delivery sheet and reported to us on the day of delivery by email to webteam@thefurnitureemporium.com. Any damage and/or faults reported after this time, that have not been caused by improper use, will be treated as a warranty claim and corrected by the appropriate service company appointed to carryout such work if approved by the company.

This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Making A Purchase

By placing an order with The Furniture Emporium you are accepting the standard terms and conditions of business as laid out in this document.

All goods remain the property of The Furniture Emporium until the balance of all goods has been received in full.

Furniture Delivery

The Furniture Emporium is not liable for any orders that take longer to deliver than suppliers estimated delivery. All deliveries are undertaken logistically and are the sole responsibility of 3rd party delivery companies. Customers accepting deliveries do so at their own risk. Any deliveries made where the recipients are not at the delivery address during the time arranged will be charged a false call out charge to be agreed with The Furniture Emporium in advance of any redelivery arrangements being made.

Any shortages, damages or incorrect orders must be reported to The Furniture Emporium within 24 hours. Damaged goods must be retained for inspection with all original packaging. No credit can be issued for goods when packaging has been disposed of. The consumer must make the goods available for collection by The Furniture Emporium within 14 working days.

We are pleased to be able to deliver to your door. Should you wish us to place or assemble your furniture, we will endeavour to take due care, however it is on the understanding that we cannot accept liability whatsover for any damage caused to either the goods or your property.

The Furniture Emporium complies with the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 which states that consumers have the right to a cooling off period of 7 working days after the goods have been received. However, The Furniture Emporium will only give a refund if the consumer complies with the following: - 1. The customer confirms their right to cancel to The Furniture Emporium in writing within 7 days of the receipt of the goods. 2. The customer must take reasonable care of any goods that have been supplied until they are returned to The Furniture Emporium. 3. The consumer must make the goods available for collection by The Furniture Emporium within 14 working days.

Please Note: Where the customer has changed their mind on any furniture and accessories they have purchased which have been delivered, the customer will expect and agrees to be charged the cost in full of delivering the goods back to The Furniture Emporium.

Goods Guarantee

All goods are guaranteed for 6 months. The Furniture Emporium retains the right to inspect any goods prior to any claim on the aforementioned guarantees before any items are refunded, exchanged or repaired. All customers must comply with any assembly or care instructions provided by the supplier.

The Furniture Emporium retains the right to alter the specifications of furniture in accordance with our suppliers' commitment to quality and continuous improvement without prior notice.

The Furniture Emporium operates within UK law. Your statutory rights are not affected. The Furniture Emporium is registered in the UK.

Back Orders

If goods are not available from stock you will be contacted with an approximate delivery time scale, if you wish to cancel an order you can do within 7 days of receiving notification. Orders taking over 28 days to deliver will be charged a 30% deposit. The full balance will then be required prior to dispatch. By paying 30% of the retail price charged, the customer enters into a "contract" with The Furniture Emporium and by doing so, must forfeit the deposit if they subsequently cancel their order outside the 7 days allowed from date of order. Custom made orders will forfeit 50% of the retail price charged.

Tax Charges For all orders 17.5% VAT is included.
