SALE OF THE WILKINSON SWORD CSK185 DARTMOOR KNIFE
YOUR OWN PIECE OF BRITISH MANUFACTURING HISTORY
Wilkinson Sword began to manufacture the Mk I Survival Knife in 1986. The CSK185 Dartmoor Knife was released in early 2003 with updated alterations.
The Dartmoor Survival Knife was finished by Wilkinson Sword at its specialist swords-making division in Acton, London, which produced swords and knives for the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) for supply to the UK Armed Forces. This same factory made the swords for the Household Cavalry, the Fairbairn-Sykes Commando dagger, and the Ray Mears Bushcraft knives, amongst others.
In 2004, MOD awarded its swords and bayonets contract overseas and in 2005, the Wilkinson Sword factory was forced to close. With this, another piece of British manufacturing history disappeared. When the factory closed, production of the Mk II Dartmoor Survival Knife ceased. In total, 500 numbered CSK185 Dartmoor Knives and approximately 1000 without numbers had been sold.
Since closure of the Wilkinson Sword factory, we have secured the last remaining stocks of this highly sought after item.
For over 2 years, the Wilkinson Sword CSK185 Dartmoor Knife has been available only very occasionally and only to those prepared to pay up to £500 for used or well-circulated silver blade models from private Sellers on eBay. We have now made it available to all through our ‘Buy It Now’ Listings, and in different stages of completion.
Some knives are ready for use and aimed at the outdoor enthusiast or bushcrafter. Other knives and blades are in various unfinished stages and will appeal to knife makers and collectors alike.
In addition, we offer you a good range of spares, enabling those with an incomplete or broken CSK185 Dartmoor Knife to – at last – return their specimen to former glory!
