Additional Handsets Adding Additional Handsets to your existing Home Phone. Additional handsets can be added to most cordless phones by simply plugging them in to a convenient power supply, without the need for extra phone sockets or wiring. You can add up to two handsets to a standard cordless phone. Digital cordless phones enable you to include between four and six additional handsets to one base station. You don't have to keep to the same brand, as most digital phones let you mix and match handsets to suit your needs so long as they are GAP compatible.

Broadband Broadband is a new technology replacing narrowband or dial up Internet services across the UK. It is commonly used to represent data speeds of over 500kbit/s through your phone line and is often referred to as 'high speed Internet access'. BT's leading Broadband technology is Digital Subscriber Line (DSL, also known as ADSL). With it you can get fast downloads from the Internet at speeds between 512kbit/s and 2Mbit/s. Call Timer Monitors the duration of a call, beginning from the time the line is engaged.
Call Transfer Allows a call to be transferred from one handset or extension to another.
Call Waiting A beep occurs while a phone is engaged alerting the user to an incoming call. Users can choose whether to switch between callers or ignore the incoming call. On some phones, when used with Caller Display, the incoming caller's number will be displayed to allow the user to screen the call.
Caller Display When used with a Caller Display service, this feature allows you to see who is calling you if you have their name or number stored in your phone directory. You need a NAME & NUMBER directory to see the name of the person who is calling. If you only have a NUMBER directory you will only see the number of the person calling. You will need to subscribe to the BT Caller Display Service for the caller display function on your phone to be activated. The Caller Display Service is available FREE when you sign up to BT's FREE BT Privacy At Home service. It helps you take control of incoming calls with FREE BT Caller Display and also helps you reduce unwanted sales calls with Telephone Preference Service

GAP GAP (Generic Access Profile) is a common interface which allows phones to talk to base stations. In theory, any GAP-compatible phone can be used with any other GAP phone. Some features such as shared phonebooks, Intercom, Call transfer and Caller ID may not work, however you will be able to make and receive calls with out a problem. It is always wise to use the same manufacture when choosing a GAP phone to connect to your existing system but not necessary. You can add up to 5 additional handsets to your existing GAP compatible base station without requiring any additional phone sockets. Most of our digital phones are available as singles, twins, trios or quads so that you can have a phone in every room of the house. When sold together, e.g. a quad (contains 4 phones); they are already set-up to work from one telephone socket. If you purchase an additional (GAP compatible) handset, there is a short and simple process, outlined in the product user guide (included with your phone), to link your new handset to your existing telephone system.
