All vinyl products sold here are self-adhesive 'peel & stick' type products, and are extremely simple to apply. Here are some guidelines that may assist you in the application of your vinyl;
1 - Ensure that your chosen surface is a suitable one. Please practise common sense and do not decide to stick the vinyl anywhere that might cause harm to yourself, another, or the item you are customising. The stickers, decals, and other vinyl products can be applied to most clean and smooth surfaces such as glass, metal, plastic and fibreglass - but DO NOT apply to engine parts or any other place that becomes hot.
2 - Use an appropriate cleaner to make sure that you are working on a grease/dust free surface. The surface should be completely dry, and out of direct sunlight.
3 - Your hands should be clean and grease free. When you peel the backing off the decal or sticker, handle it as little as possible, before lining it up to the desired position. Stick it from one point first, and rub it on as you stick it down bit by bit, taking special care to rub out any air bubbles. If you find that you have some air bubbles that cannot be smoothed out, often they can be popped with a pin, and the edges rubbed down. A squeegee or plastic card (credit card style) is also useful for applying decals and other vinyl.
WET APPLICATION - LETHAL THREAT DECALS ONLY -
Clean the suitable surface as directed above. Fill a spray bottle with water and a few drops of washing up liquid. Spray a light mist of the fluid on the desired location where you will apply the Lethal Threat decal. With clean hands, peel the decal from the backing paper, taking care not to let it stick to itself. Position the decal in the misted desired location, then using a squeegee or straight edge, rub the decal from the center out pushing out any trapped fluid and air bubbles. Wet application is more practical for the larger graphics.
For a more custom look, some of our customers trim the excess clear border with a blade - TAKE CARE!! Also, many customers have had success with laquering over the decals, however we DO NOT guarantee your results if you laquer over the decals.
Please take neccessary care when applying decals, stickers, and other vinyl products. Rock Artist Studios will accept NO responsiblity for these being used incorrectly or inappropriatley.
