HOW TO MEASURE YOUR CHILD FOR A VIOLIN
It is vital that the correct size violin is selected and most importantly too
large a violin is not purchased.
The general way to measure for a violin is to measure from the angle where
the neck and shoulder meet to the centre of the upturned palm.
Use a metre stick or tape measure. Have the child stretch the left arm out
straight, palm up. Place the measure against the child's neck, resting on the
shoulder and arm, and measure to middle of the palm of the hand.
If the child is an in-between size, always choose the smaller size. Too large
a violin will handicap their development.
