General information:
My training courses are very different to any others that are advertised, because they are 100% practical Courses, designed to help you to dramatically improve your studio skills.
Everything you learn will be relevant to your own needs, and you will learn how to produce creative, technically sound and dynamic pictures. All you will then need is to practice what you've learned. And if you have any queries in the future you simply ring up and pick my brains!
Who are the Courses for?
Mostly, the people who come here are keen amateur photographers who understand the basics of photography and now want to learn about studio photography and lighting in general or who want to specialise in one particular aspect of it, and some of our students are professional photographers who want to increase the range of work that they can take on. We also provide training to corporate clients, who are mainly businesses who have their own in-house photography studio and who need help to raise their standards so that they can produce professional quality results for their websites or brochures.
Are your courses suitable for beginners?
Yes. It doesn't matter how much or how little you know, we will tailor your training to your exact needs and to your level of knowledge.
What facilities do we have?
Our studio measures over 2000 square feet and is fitted with various backgrounds plus a roomset, which we use mainly for photographing furniture and fashion.
How long does the Course last?
1 day, normally 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Why only 1 day? Some other people offer 2 day or even 2 week courses
Because our courses are 100% individual, it will be tailored to what YOU need to know, not to what other people want to know.
And because we will supply you with our full set of technical tutorials on disk (665 pages) we won't waste your time with background technical info that you can read through later.
People are amazed at just how much they've learned and at the quality they can achieve - we strip away all the mystique and nonsense and teach you how it's really done. Once you understand the principles and how to approach studio photography you'll find that it's really simple and you'll get outstanding results.
Do I offer different types of training?
Yes, because every Workshop is tailored to the exact needs of the individual, which means that we will cover exactly what you want to learn.
Can more than 1 person attend the Course?
Yes, up to 4 people can attend on one booking, and there is no extra charge for the extra people. If you want to bring your partner or friends with you then you should all have a similar level of studio experience because your workshop will need to be tailored to suit the person who has the least experience.
When will the next Course be held?
It can be arranged for any time convenient to you, subject to our work diary.
How much does it cost?
The total cost is only £350, including V.A.T.
By attending one of our Studio Courses you will be able to save far more than the cost, because you will know exactly which items of equipment you need to buy and, equally importantly, which items you don't need! The ?20 you pay when you click on 'Buy Now' is a deposit, the balance can be paid later by PayPal, cash or cheque.
Will there be any extra costs?
The cost includes everything except a model. We can arrange a model for you if required, at cost price or, like most people, you can bring a friend or family member along with you to model.
Who will teach you?
I will. My name is Garry Edwards, I'm a successful professional photographer with a lifetime of experience, and my speciality is studio photography. I have also taught studio photography for about 12 years, I'm the author of the 'Photolearn' photography tutorials (which you'll get free) and I'm a moderator (Studio Lighting & Equipment) on www.photo.net
Where are the courses held?
At my studio in Bradford, near Leeds - about 3 1/2 hours from London. The studio is easy to find, you'll get full directions and there are no parking problems. People come here from all over, a few from overseas!
