POSTAGE COSTS EXPLAINED

About my postage and handling costs.  The majority of items go in the new large letter size which is a cost of .52p for 1st class (from 7 April 08).  There is then the cost of the bubble envelope, bubble wrap and boxes if any are used.   I don't drive and suffer from a chronic foot condition so I have my post picked up on a daily basis.  Every 6 months I divide the cost of this service into the number of items posted to consider in the postage costs for the buyer.  This is usually about 20p.  I usually package items myself, but do rely on an employee during busy times.  This is also calculated into costs on an annual average.   All these items add up and the buyer is not always aware of the "hidden" costs.  Although postage costs seem high at times, I normally take a loss at year end on postage so I do not feel my costs are unrealistic.  If I feel my standard postage cost is too much for the particular item, I lower the selling value.  Most seasoned ebayers realise that the item price and postage is the overall price.  If you accept these terms by purchasing then you cannot complain about postage costs.

DELIVERY TIME:  As I post on a daily basis and purchases paid for by 1 p.m. go out that day.  I cannot be held responsible if the post office is late getting your item to you.  I always get proof of posting.
