Overview

The wetsuits we stock are made mostly of Neoprene which is a high quality synthetic rubber which gives the wearer the best in comfort and performance. Because Neoprene is stretchy it allows the wearer to move freely when in water.

Type of Wetsuits

Wetsuits comes in different shapes, sizes and styles. The two main differences are the thickness of the suit and the style of the suit. We stock 3mm thick wetsuits which are perfect for spring and summer weather. They are thick enough to keep the wearer warm but also allow a good deal of movement. We also stock 5mm thick wetsuits. These are perfect for colder climates and keep the wearer warm during the winter months.

We stock two different styles of wetsuits. Shortie wetsuits are suits that cover the wearer down to the knee and elbow. This allows the wearer the freedom to wear the wetsuit without being restricted at the joints. We stock the Shortie wetsuits from both Osprey and Nalu.

The Full Length Wetsuits cover the entire body up to the ankle and wrist. They are 3mm thick and provide all round protection.

We stock Full Length Men's Osprey Westuits, Full Length Osprey Ladies Wetsuits and Full Length Osprey Children's Wetsuits in our eBay Shop.

Our Measurements

Our Full Length Wetsuits have six measurements:

Chest Size

This is the main measurement that we use. The Chest size is the measurement of the top of your chest. To measure your chest simply put your arms in the air, put the tape measure around your chest just under your arm pit and then lower your arms. Ladies Wetsuits have added space around the chest. This measurement is shown as Number 1 in the diagram above.

Size

Each wetsuit is given a size. This is a general size guide. Sizes range from Small to XXX-Large. As we all come in different shapes and sizes it’s recommended that you use the other measurements on the product page to find your best fit.

Length

The length of the wetsuit shows you how long it is from the neck to the ankle. Because the material that our wetsuits are made from is stretchy there is around 5cm of give in each suit.

Neck to Crotch

This measurement starts at the base of the neck and finishes at the bottom of the crotch. This measurement is shown as Number 2 in the diagram above.

Inside Leg

This measurement starts from the base of the ankle and finishes that the bottom of the crotch. This measurement is shown as Number 3 in the diagram above.

Inside Arm

This measurement starts at the top of the armpit and finishes at the wrist. This measurement is shown as Number 4 in the diagram above.

The shortie wetsuits only has one measurement, Neck to Crotch.

Putting Your Wetsuit On

If you have never worn a wetsuit before the first time you put one on it will feel funny! A wetsuit is designed to be tight as this keeps the heat in. If a wetsuit is too big water can start to gather which will make moving harder.

The wetsuit should feel skin tight. As the wetsuit is made of a stretchy material the more you use it, the more comfortable it will become.

Taking Care of your Wetsuit

By following these instructions, you will prolong the life of your wetsuit. Once you have finished using your wetsuit flush it with tap water, clearing any sand and debris. Don’t use any soap or other chemicals. Now hang the suit to dry away from direct sunlight and allow it to completely dry on its own. When storing the wetsuit fold carefully.

Wetsuit Accessories

There are lots of accessories you can use with your wetsuit. We recommend that you use a Rash Vest when wearing a wetsuit. A Rash Vest prevents friction against your chest and back and also helps to keep warmth in. We stock Osprey Rash Vests in our eBay Shop.

Wetsuit Boots are also a great idea. They keep your feet safe from sharp and jagged stones and also keep your feet warm. We stock Osprey Wetsuit Boots in our eBay Shop.
