Payment / Posting / Shipping Frequently Asked Questions
My aim is to keep things as easy as possible, while providing a quality product together with quality packing and fast dispatch. Each listing has complete details of shipping costs to all those destinations I post to. This will enable you to make a payment for items bought or auctions won automatically at any time of day or night via PayPal. Just click on the link in the end of transaction email from eBay or go to the top of the listing and click on the "Pay Now" button. If you have made multiple purchases you will automatically be prompted to include those. I will send out an eBay invoice as soon as possible, but these are not essential to be able to make a payment. If you have any difficulties please email me and I'll help you. Any PayPal payments that are under or over the correct amount will be refunded and a new invoice sent out for you to pay.
Posting methods. For all UK addresses items are sent by Royal Mail First Class post. For those outside the UK your items will be sent By Royal Mail Airmail "Small Packet" Service. This has the advantage of being as fast as First Class Airmail but at a reduced rate to keep costs as low as possible. I do not use "Surface Mail" as the saving is minimal on small items and can also take many weeks or even months to arrive at its destination.
Packing materials used. To ensure your items arrive safe and undamaged, only top quality new packaging materials are used. For posting CD's I use bubble mailers plus additional corrugated cardboard either side. Through experience and feedback from buyers I have found this combination to work the best.
How long will my items take to arrive?
-
United Kingdom. Approximately 1 - 3 working days, please note this does not include Saturday or Sunday.
-
Europe. Generally it takes between 3 and 10 days depending on the exact country, sometimes a few days longer as some countries postal systems are better than others.
- Australia and Japan. Generally it takes between 4 and 10 working days. Normally post to these countries tends to be amongst the best in the world despite the great distance involved. However, do be prepared to wait a bit longer as at peak times there is sometimes delays in clearing customs, especially around Christmas time.
You will be advised by email when your payment is received as to what day your item(s) will be despatched. Please make sure your email addresses with both Paypal and eBay are correct and working. I will despatch your items as soon as possible, normally next day if it's a posting day. I post out five days a week, Monday, Tuesday, (NOT Wednesday,) Thursday, Friday, Saturday. My terrific local Post Office is not open on Wednesday or Sunday so I'm not able to post out on these days.
Insurance / Certificate of Posting / Recorded Delivery / Special Delivery. Despite what some will have you believe items lost in the post are actually very rare. For each item that is posted I obtain a Certificate of posting, so should your item go missing I can obtain a refund from Royal Mail for you. However, please be aware that the Post Office do not consider an item lost until at least 15 working days (Not including Saturday or Sunday) after the item is posted and will not process any claims until after that time.
For UK addresses I offer recorded delivery as an additional option at cost (66p). However, please be aware this service does not offer any additional compensation over that provided by a Certificate of Posting or guarantee next day delivery. The limit on compensation on both of these is currently GBP 30 (UK pounds Sterling). If your item(s) are above that value I will either post out in two or more packages or alternatively use Royal Mail Special Delivery which covers a much higher value. Both of these will be done at no extra cost to you.
