                                          SOLID GOLD LORD ELGIN

Presented is a very attractive 40's vintage high grade "Lord Elgin" in a uniquely styled big faceted lugs 14K yellow gold case with a nice looking black dial and recently cleaned high grade movement. The unique features of this case are hard to describe but all is evident in the images. The case measures 38mm in length and 22mm wide, not including crown, and is marked "Cased and Timed by Elgin National Watch Co. Schwab & Wuischpard Inc. 14KT Gold" and "4529" on the inside, "14K Gold" on the back. The overall condition is Stunning, for a 60+ year old watch and that's really about it. No dents, dings or personalization. Check out those hooded lugs! The beautiful black dial has been very nicely restored back to its original beauty and features raised and applied gold numbers/indicators and a slightly recessed sub second bit at the 6 position. Signed "Lord Elgin" in an arc. Nice original gold hands. The movement is a recently cleaned great running manual wind Elgin Grade 670 with 21 Jewels and white Invar balance. It also has nickle plates and is marked "Elgin USA" and "Adj'd". Finally, this hooded lug solid 14K "Lord Elgin" comes with a new black padded and stitched crocodile grain leather strap and a new and correct GLASS crystal.

Lord and Lady Elgin watches were Elgins' flagship, Top of the range models.

The quality of this piece is shown throughout the photos, so please take your time looking. Here is a very handsome mens14k Gold wristwatch from Lord Elgin. This watch amazingly dates back to 1943 and is in excellent condition, both cosmetically and mechanically

The whole case is a deep 14kt yellow gold filled and as stated is in excellent condition showing very minimal wear. The back is fully signed by Elgin on the inside

The case measures a long 45mm lug to lug x 20mm across. And comes complete with a vintage expandable Gold Filled band which will fit most wrists comfortably.

The dial on this watch is in excellent condition. It is white with small, shiny gold studs all the way around the outer edge for minute markers and raised gold art deco, Arabic numbers at the hour points. The 6 position has a square sub second dial which is deep set and has its own black seconds chapter and numbers This watch has its original Elgin signed 21j high grade movement. It is a 559 grade model and is fully working and keeping time and is serialised to allow us to date to 1943. The watch comes complete with a vintage expandable Gold Filled band which will fit most wrists comfortably.

This particular model is known as a drivers watch due to the swing type lugs which make the watch far more comfortable to wear as it wraps it self around the contours of the wrist. It has bevelled sides and fancy scalloped / fluted ends.
