STERLING SILVER

What is sterling silver?
Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper. Majority of our sterling silver charms show a stamped quality mark of 925, however some are just so small that it is impossible for the stamp to be put onto them

How Do I Care For Sterling Silver?
With proper care, sterling silver will last a lifetime. To minimize scratches and other damage, store your sterling silver charms either in a cloth pouch or in a separate compartment in your jewellery box. Avoid exposing them to household chemicals when cleaning with bleach or ammonia, or when swimming in chlorinated water, as these chemicals can damage silver

To clean your charms, you should use polishes or cloths made specifically to remove tarnish. These polishes, solutions or cloths can be purchased from most hardware shops or on Ebay. Wearing your sterling silver is often the best way to prevent tarnish from building up, but regular cleaning will help prevent it occurring and keep your silver bright and sparklin

PEWTER

What is pewter?
Pewter is a lead free alloy containing over 90% tin, with the remainder being copper and antimony to harden the finished metal. Compared to sterling silver, it is a cheaper alternative, is darker in colour and does not tarnish. The pewter that we sell is classified as lead free as per USA safety guidelines, however it may still contain a very small amount of lead

How Do I Care For Pewter?
Pewter should be hand washed in warm soapy water and dried with a soft cloth. Pewter will last a lifetime if cared for properly

TIBETAN SILVER

What is Tibetan silver?
Genuine Tibetan silver has 925 sterling silver in it. However, the Tibetan silver we sell is metal based and plated in an antique silver colour. They are made of alloy, including copper and zinc, but there is no silver in them.

These Tibetan charms should not be used to make any jewellery items unless it states that they are nickel free. This is due to current European guidelines. They should only be used for your craft and cardmaking projects.

How Do I Care For Tibetan silver?
Tibetan silver can be washed in warm water using a mild detergent and a small brush. Rinse with warm water and dry with a soft cloth.
