SHIPPING COSTS
  • Shipping costs will be shown on the invoice sent once the order is placed, or the auction is complete.
  • Please remember that shipping costs include the cost of packaging and some travel, as well as the actual postage cost.
  • If the actual shipping costs are greater than those shown in the listing the buyer will have the option of withdrawing their order with no negative feedback left.
  • Where a package to be sent to a UK address is too heavy for 2nd Class shipping, Royal Mail's Standard Parcels service will be offered as a shipping method where it is lower in price than 1st Class shipping.
  • Please be aware that we mail items every day except Sunday, Monday, Good Friday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. If you require your purchase urgently, please contact the seller as soon as your order is placed or the auction finishes, so appropriate arrangements can be made.
  • Where the purchase price is in excess of £30.00 GBP, and the item is to be sent to a UK ADDRESS, it will be dispatched by Recorded Delivery, or by Special Delivery Next Day where the winning bid is in excess of £100.00 GBP. In either case there will be no extra cost to the winning bidder
  • Where the purchase price is in excess of £50.00 GBP, and the item is to be sent to an address outside of the UK, Royal Mail's 'Airsure' and 'International Signed For' services will be offered as an option on the invoice.
  • Buyers of items where the purchase price does not meet the criteria set out above are welcome to request that their goods are despatched using any of the appropriate services shown below. The additional cost will be shown on the invoice...

    SHIPPING NOTES
In spite of what you might have read in other listings, it is the seller's responsibility to get the item to you in the condition described. We take this obligation seriously, so...
    • We ship our books in a waterproof bag, inside a bubble lined envelope. Please note that for all non-UK buyers, and some UK buyers, we also put the book inside a bubble bag before putting it in the envelope.
    • All of our packaging is new, to give maximum protection to contents.
    • We use printed labels to limit instances of non-delivery, and always include a return address on the package.
    • All of our shipping is done using Royal Mail, the UK postal service. Occassionally, we may use an alternative carrier where Royal Mail is unable to take a package.
    • Certificates of Posting are held for all packages shipped.

MY PACKAGE HASN'T ARRIVED YET, WHAT SHALL I DO?
How long is it since you had notification that your order was despatched? Royal Mail, the UK postal service, gives a list of expected delivery times for the different services it offers, so please check that time against the information shown below to see if your package is still likely to be in transit....
    Mail ServiceExpected Delivery TimeNotes
UK 1st Class & 1st Class Recorded 1-2 working/business daysWe usually post each day before mid-day. Deliveries of 1st Class mail tend to be made on the following working/business day.
UK 2nd Class & 2nd Class Recorded2-5 working/business daysWe usually post each day before mid-day. Deliveries of 2nd Class mail tend to be made two working/business days following mailing.
Airmail (to European destinations)4-7 working/business daysAirmail to Western Europe will be delivered at the quicker end of the range given, Eastern European deliveries can take a little longer.
Surface Mail (to European destinations)10-30 working/business daysSurface Mail to Western Europe will be delivered at the quicker end of the range given, Eastern European deliveries can take a little longer.
Airmail (to non-European destinations)5-10 working/business daysAirmail deliveries to most parts of the world take 5 to 7 days to arrive, but this time can increase where there are special local circumstances, or the delivery address is in a rural area.
Surface Mail (to non-European destinations)5-8 WEEKSSurface Mail deliveries to the USA and Canada take 5 to 6 weeks, Surface Mail deliveries to Australia and New Zealand tend to take a minimum of 6 weeks. Deliveries to some rural areas can take longer.
Please check with your local postal delivery office that they are not waiting for you to collect the item. Occasionally, delivery is attempted and no notification left that the package has been returned to the delivery office for collection. It is also worth checking with neighbours in case they have forgotten they accepted delivery.
If delivery of your item is still overdue, please email us with the following information...
    • The eBay item number.
    • The date you made your payment.
    • The address and, if possible, the telephone number of your local postal delivery office.
We always raise a claim with Royal Mail for lost packages, and they usually ask for as much detail as possible. Royal Mail takes non-delivery very seriously and follow up all claims with their own, and overseas postal services, to see if they can highlight any patterns in 'disappearances' of postal packages that might help them identify areas where there may be a particular problem.
Please be aware that Royal Mail may contact you to confirm that your expected delivery never arrived.
