Our Handmade Items

Some people may wonder why we handmake our items when you can buy so many incenses, oils, brews etc wholesale, while for others its the main reason they shop with us to start with. When starting Goddess Enchantments just over a year ago my main aim was to supply the pagan community with handmade affordable magickal supplies. After working in several new age type stores in the past all selling mass produced items it was brought to my attention by many of the customers that this was not something that worked nor they wanted to use.

After always making my own oils, herb mixes etc i decided to give some of these products ago (which were all rather pricey!) and discovered many of the oils were fragrance oils. Although the oils were strong smelling they had no energy or connection to the plants and herbs they were trying to smell like and little to no magickal use for the working witch. Herb mixes had been sitting on shelves for goodness knows how long and before that had been in a factory and the whole experience was rather an eye opener.

When asking in the shop i worked in at the time if there was any way of stocking handmade ritual items they said they didnt have the time to make them and it would be more expensive than wholesale. So when planning to open the shop i spent hours looking at my Book Of Shadows, writing things out and individually pricing items to see if it was something which could work and here i am today........

I personally hand make to order our oils, room sprays, incenses, herb mixes, crystal essences, personalised spell kits, spell charms, bath teas, spells bottles and witches secrets range.

All our oils use pure essential oils, our essences are handmade and our herb mixes are made with herbs sourced locally or grown by myself. Its certainly hard work especially as we grow and more people hear about our store but its something i love and would not change for the world. When i hear from customers how their items have enhanced their spell work or their personalised spell has brought about wonderful new things it makes my day and spurs me on to create more wonderful handmade items for the store.

Things to look out for when buying your handmade spell and ritual items:

1. Are oils made with pure essential oils

2. When buying full size 10ml or upward oils you plan to keep for an extended period of time make sure they come in an amber or cobalt (blue) glass bottle. Essential oils do not keep well for long periods in clear bottles. Small amounts of oil are fine in clear vials, keep them away from sunlight.

3. Are herb mixes handmade, well sourced and made to order

4. Try where possible to buy made to order items for freshness

5. If buying bath teas, crystal essences and other items to be used on skin make sure they come with instructions, ingredients should always be given for bath teas and other skin use products.

6. Ask questions, if you cannot find the information you are looking for on a product or are unsure always email the seller before purchasing

7. Patch test items for skin use as some people may be allergic to certain herbs or essential oils etc. Products needing a patch test should always come with instuctions on how to perform one.
