1.3 Micron 24ct Gold Electroplated Pandora Style Jewellery
Here at Giftabilities I strive to provide you with the best quality items that I can. I always work on the theory "Never sell something to someone else, that I wouldn't be VERY happy purchasing!"
Like most people, I like to wear gold and I love the pandora style of jewellery that is available from various countries. To purchase a gold pandora starter bracelet could cost upto £2000+ depending on the style, and a single gold charm can cost anything upto £300 depending on the design. The authentic pandora bracelets do however look stunning in gold. If you are fortunate enough to be able to enjoy the real thing, as well as being very lucky, I envy you :0)
If like me, you can't afford the real thing, then these really are the next best thing, at a fraction of the cost!
I'm not in the habit of buying gold plated items as I find they tarnish easily, and unlike antique gold or antique silver plated items where this can add to the appearance of the item, this cannot be said about 9, 14, 18 and 24ct gold plated items. Usually gold plated items turn a dark colour, which is very unsightly against gold.
It has taken me a total of 5 months to bring these 1.3 micron 24ct electroplated pandora style items to you here on eBay.
The journey of these items began in China. I had initially ordered 24ct gold electroplated items, as I wanted to ensure that the colour of the gold would last a long time. Once I received these items I put them through some simple tests, carried out by myself. I also asked 10 selected customers who have purchased pandora style items from me before, to test them for wearability, allergies etc.
Within 24 hours I had noticed very slight signs of tarnishing. I notified those customers that had agreed to take part in the experiment, that the items were no good, so the experiment was ended.
I contacted the Chineses companies that these items were purchased from. Initially they stuck by their word and said that these items were 24ct gold electroplated. I then asked them to carry out one of the tests I had carried out. Within 48hours the pieces they had tested also showed very slight signs of tarnishing.
After long and tiring telephone conversations and email correspondence, although the Chinese company admitted that they too had seen signs of tarnishing, they have agreed to pay me £500 toward my next order (what a cheek!) To cut a long story short, I paid almost £3000 for these items, and yet they were items I wouldn't dare sell to my customers!
As the charms and the bracelets were great quality, and out of desperation I decided to work with them. The simple fact is that although the coating wasn't as it should have been, the bracelets, were the best I had received with only a loss of 1.5% down to unusable ones. Which was a fantastic result in itself! I have ordered bracelets from a total of 6 companies and about 25% of them have been resellable! The details on the charms were also great, as were the sizes and weights.
After doing some research I managed to find 3 companies within a 50 mile radius of myself. I took samples down to each of these factories/companies to get their opinion on the pieces, and to see whether they could indeed do the job I wanted doing. After selecting the chosen company and having to pay another £3100, I have managed to come away with pieces of jewellery that I would be more than happy to purchase for myself and as gifts for my family and friends! The findings of the replating company were as follows:
Point Number 1: After testing the bracelets they found that there was No gold, not even 0.01micron of gold showed on the scale. They concluded that the "Gold appearance" was achieved by spraying the items with a can of gold coloured spray!
Point Number 2: After testing the charms the gold content registered 0.01micron of gold. Again they concluded that this was probably achieved with a gold coloured spray.
To make this easily understandable In the UK the normal coating is usually 0.50 micron of gold.
In order to bring these bracelets back to a standard that is acceptable by GB trading laws, and to provide my customers with the best deal possible, I had to have the existing plating taken off completely, and it had to be replaced with 0.50 micron of 24ct gold.
I knew exactly what I was after so set out asking the following questions. I asked the company how long 0.50 micron would last. Their response was that this depended on a number of factors, i.e. how often it is worn and treated, the acid levels in the body, whether it will be worn against other jewellery and the level of moistuire it is exposed to. They said that with normal wear (whatever normal wear is!), the plating should last 6 months. I then asked how could I prolong the life of the gold even further. I was informed that replating the items in 1 micron of 24ct gold electroplating would at least double the time that the gold would look pristine. The basic informtion is that 1micron will last approxminately one year.
Each gold plated pandora style bracelet, safety chain and charm is now coated with 1.3 micron 24ct gold electroplating.
Please can I make it perfectly clear that I personally cannot give you a gaurantee on the plating, I will only do so when I have had the items and tested them over a period of time.
If in a year you decide your bracelet needs replating this is not a problem. Simply let me know and I will get them replated again for a fee. As soon as I have a price per item I will include the information on each listing. Doing this will allow you to keep your items looking pristine for as long as you love wearing it!.
To keep your bracelet looking pristine NEVER use cleaning solutions and avoid putting your bracelet in water. If possible avoid wearing other jewellery items next to it as these will scratch the surface, therefore affecting the lifespan. To clean simply polish with s dry cloth. This will make your piece sparkle like new!
These items will be the BEST QUALITY gold plated pandora STYLE items you will find here on eBay, or in fact anywhere else. As you can see by all the information above I have gone to great lengths to ensure that you get the best possible deals on the best quality items.
I am very proud to introduce this range of items. I really hope that all the hard work, negotiating, extra costs and ground work will provide you with the best 1.3 micron 24ct gold electroplated pandora style jewllery on eBay and even the on the open market today! I also hope that you get as much pleasure from wearing them as I do:0)
In the future I intend on stocking more pandora style items in microns of between 1 and 3, 24ct gold electroplated items, but will only do so if I know the demand is there for them..
