About Focused...
Focused was created by Sophie Mason in 2003.
In the past there seemed to be something negative about skating, almost artless. Whether this was due to the media, society or generally bad experiences is irrelavant as we have the freedom to make our own judgements based on our own reasoning. At Focused we have come to realise that skating provides vivid examples of excellence and skill.
An American man provided thought on the way society can be viewed by those that wish to embrace it. John Cage said
"The first question I ask myself when something doesn't seem to be beautiful is why do I think it's not beautiful. And very shortly you discover that there is no reason."
It is this idea of finding beauty in the most unexpected places that has brought about the use of skateboards and other recycled products in what we consider to be a beautiful outcome.
