FOR DUAL PURPOSE USE :TURBOS SUPERCHARGES AND EXHAUST/SUPER CHIPPED ,AIR INTAKE MODIFICATIONS THE CLUTCH MUST BE FLEXIBLE ENOUGH TO DRIVE ON THE STREET AND PERFORM WELL ON THE TRACK
THE USE OF HIGH -BURST STRENGTH KEVLARTEK OR METAL BACK ORGANIC LININGS
AND A HEAVY DUTY CLUTCH COVER

PRESSURE PLATE LOADS,DISC DIAMETER,NUMBER OF DISCS CAND OTHER FACTORS DETERMINE HOW A CLUTCH WILL PERFORM AND THEY ALL RELATE TO OVERALL CLUTCH PERFORMANCE.
TORQUE CAPACITY IS WHAT THE CLUTCH IS ALL ABOUT
THE TRANSFER OF ENGINE TORQUE TO THE DRIVELINE.
THE BASIC FORMULA WHICH DESCRIBES CLUTCH CAPACITY ,OR HOW MUCH TORQUE A GIVEN CLUTCH CAN TRANSMIT.

T=capacity in foot - pounds of torque
P=pressure-plate load in pounds
N=number of friction facings
one for a single plate
two for a twin
three for a triple
R=mean effective radius in inches
CF= coeficcient of friction
any increase in the figures on the right hand side of the equal sign will increase the clutch capacity
however there is a limit to how much any of them can be increased,
ie pressure plate load is directly proportional to the pedal force required to operate the clutch such an increase could cause a heavy pedal.
