Our blinds are easy to measure for. Just decide if you want to fit your blind inside or outside the window recess and then follow the guidelines below.

A. Inside Recess Fitting

1. Check for any obstructions such as phone sockets, handles or picture rails. These may need to be taken into account when measuring.

2. Measure the width at 3 points as shown in diagram.

It’s likely that you will find slightly different widths at each of the 3 points. Deduct 2cm (two  centimetres) from the narrowest of these measurements.This is your width measurement.

B. Outside Recess Fitting
      
1. Check for any obstructions such as phone sockets, handles or picture rails. These may need to be taken into account when measuring.

2. Measure the width at the point you wish the blind to be fitted as shown in diagram. This is your width measurement.

Generally an overlap of 5cm either side of the window recess looks good, but this varies according to the situation. For example, you may want the blind to be the same width as the window ledge.

3. Measure the drop from the point where you want the top of the blind to be down to where you want the bottom of the blind to be. This is your drop measurement.

Please note that these measuring guidelines are intended for use when measuring for blinds from theblindshop. Other retailers may not use the same dimensions.
