Warranty
All products come with a minimum of 12 months warranty on faulty parts as a result of manufacturer’s workmanship and material.
Please ensure that you register your product with us for the purpose of the warranty. Register my product now or follow this link www.ecoair.org/warranty-registration.html.
Except for replacement items and filters, most of the products sold on our site are intended by the manufacturers to be installed by professional heating and air conditioning contractors. We, however, make them available to do-it-yourself individuals like yourself, so that if you are mechanically inclined to install them on your own you can save a substantial amount of money. Please know that we want you to understand the advantages of self-installation , as well as any potential disadvantages, and your decision to purchase from us and install on your own is informed and you feel it is the best option for you.
Although having a qualified contractor install the product for you is more costly, there is in fact value in this extra cost. The advantages of having professional installation is the validation of your warranty with the manufacturer, and having someone to process warranty claims for you with the manufacturer in the event your product should fail.
You need to be aware that a parts warranty literally means parts warranty. The manufacturer will require a validation of your warranty, mainly that it has been installed by an approved installer. Any labour costs required for the manufacturer to diagnose the faulty part on-site is payable by you. You may be asked to return the item to base so that we can diagnose the fault. In such cases, you will bear the return cost and we do not accept responsibility for any damage in transit of the item on its return. Any faults arising from a manufacturing fault will be rectified by us at no cost to you and will be delivered to you free of charge during the warranty period. Faults arising from installation will be rectified at your cost, but we will make this clear to you before carrying out any repair work on your behalf.
If you choose to install the products yourself, which you certainly can (but for safety reasons, please do ensure that any electrical work is carried out by a suitably qualified electrician), please be aware of two important things:-
1) You need to have your qualified installer to start up the unit after you install to validate the warranty. The installer must be a member of ACRIB or HVCA or an ECOAIR approved installer. Once they have done that, they need to fill in your product warranty form for your safekeeping. Please note that your warranty claim cannot be processed unless this is done.
2) In the event you should have a problem with your product within the warranty period, you need to email us and send us a copy of your warranty registration with the installation information as stated in (1) above.
Exceptions to professional installations on certain products
There are exceptions to the requirement for a qualified installer for the following products:
a) DIY Air Conditioning Models ECO902SQ and ECO1202SQ. These models are intended for self installation, therefore the manufacturer warranty will not be restricted due to lack of professional installation if you install it yourself. Any manufacturing faults arising on these items will be repaired and made good provided you return the item to us for diagnosis and repair.
b) Portable Air Conditioning.
