store is run and maintained by 2to5.com, a specialist supplier of of high
quality educational toys to Schools, Nurseries, Childcare Professionals and the
caring parents alike.
We are a
small family run business dedicated to the provision of high quality resources
for early years settings
Our product
ranges are selected for their education value and suitability for use in support
of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. All of our toys are designed to
meet or exceed current safety standards and encompass traditional values.
Whilst we
offer a few toys which require batteries, we prefer toys which children can
interact with rather than sit and watch. We believe that this is better for them
and better for the environment.
Our
products and philosophies are based not only around the old educational 3'r's of
Reading ,wRiting and aRithmatic, but also around the new environmental 3'R's of
Reuse, Recycle and Replace.
Taking
packaging as an example many of the products we buy arrive from our suppliers in
high quality transit packaging destined for single use. Many Companies simply
discard this in favour of their own corporate branded shipping cartons. We
believe this to be a complete waste of dwindling resources and reuse as much of
this as possible. This may mean that your products arrive with you in boxes
bearing the names of other companies and they may not be pristine but they will
protect your goods just as well as a new carton and protect the environment as
well.
Of the
packaging we receive from our suppliers, measured by weight, around 95 % is re
used 4% goes for recycling and only 1% goes to refuse.
As we are
supplying products to the very people who are shaping the future of our children
we feel that it is important that we set a strong example in our business
activities and our choice of products. Every item is selected for its
educational value and the majority of our customers are childcare professionals.
Within our shop you will find products to support early years language and
literacy development, numeracy and problem solving skills, information
technology, knowledge and understanding of the world and its peoples, special
educational needs and more.
Many of the
products in our store would normally only be available from specialist suppliers
with very high minimum order values making them unattainable for many parents
and childcare professionals such as childminders. Through this site we have
tried to give you all access to the best educational toys around even if your
budget only runs to a few pounds.
We also
have access to a wide range of products which are too specialist to stock in our
